April 25th 1:30 – 3:30 Change is coming; January 1st 2013 the Washington dig laws will take a step in a new direction the SWCA in conjunction with the Clark County Utility Coordinating Council would like to invite you to have a look at the new laws.
The afternoon event will include an update on the new laws, ideas on ways to protect your company through proper documentation as well as a Q&A session about the new laws and how they may affect your company.

]]>The Southwest Washington Contractors Association, in partnership with the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia River Economic Development Council, invite you to a meeting with BHP Billiton and SNC-Lavalin officials to talk about the anticipated project associated with building a potash export facility at the Port’s Terminal 5 including opportunities and process for involvement. If BHP Billiton ultimately decides to move ahead with the project, construction is expected to start as early as later this year.
At this meeting, you will be able to get an overview of the proposed project, a description of the kinds of opportunities that will be available for local contractors, and an understanding of the expectations of both BHP Billiton and SNC Lavalin. BHP Billiton is the world’s largest mining company and holds themselves and their contractors to a high level of safety and environmental standards and processes. SNC Lavalin is one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world; it employs some 28,000 personnel serving a wide array of business sectors, including mining and port development.
In attendance will be representatives of the Port of Vancouver, BHP Billiton and SNC Lavalin who serves as the project’s engineering, procurement and construction manager. The meeting will be on April 26, 2012 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM at the Heathman Lodge (7801 NE Greenwood Drive, Vancouver, WA, 98662). Please RSVP to Mike@SWCA.org.
