The Vancouver Business Journal is accepting submissions for the 2012 Top Projects
Magazine and Event.
At the Vancouver Business Journal, summer – or “construction season” – is the time
to celebrate the accomplishments of the building industry by publishing Top Projects
Magazine, a tribute to the contractors, architects, engineers and building industry
professionals that are growing Southwest Washington. On July 26, those projects will
be celebrated at our annual event held at a working construction site.
Now in its eighth year, Top Projects will recognize construction projects in three areas:
Commercial Development, Residential Development and Public Works. Projects
in these categories will be ranked by cost of construction, not including land or
furnishings costs.
It is easy and fast to submit your information online using the link above, including
photos to be published with each project. Don’t delay!You’ll want to see all your
projects listed.

]]> No publisher Mike Bomar Vancouver Business Journal Awards Top Projects Events Event News 2012-05-07T22:30:00Z News Item Erosion Control Training - May 2012 http://www.swca.org/education/CESCL2012 This certification is required by the Department of Ecology for all stormwater permitted construction sites over an acre. The course will cover the erosion control process, correct measures to manage erosion and sediment; proper installation of different stormwater control devices called Best Management Practices or BMP’s and how to inspect and maintain them. In addition, the course identifies regulations, compliance, responsibility and liability. The certification is good for three (3) years. Register Today! Space is Limited.

We are in the process of planning at Tuesdays@4 member event on May 22 in Vancouver at Patriot Fire Protection, Inc. The event will include an informative/educational topic from 4:00 – 5:00 pm with chapter updates and networking from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.

I need your feedback on a couple of items:

1. Topic:

a. Would you be interested in hearing an update on the CRC project?

b. If not, do you have another hot issue/topic you would like us to offer a presentation on?

2. Are you available and would you come to the Tuesdays@4 event on May 22?

a. If not, please let me know why you would not attend.

Vancouver, WA – The Community Pride Design Awards program is accepting nominations for outstanding projects that demonstrate quality development and enhance the community.

Projects completed between Jan. 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 are eligible. A public awards ceremony will be held in November.

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. They may be emailed to commdev@clark.wa.gov or mailed to Community Pride Design Awards, P.O. Box 9810, Vancouver, WA 98666.

The Community Pride Design Awards program was established in 1996 through a public-private partnership to recognize exceptional buildings, development and civic improvements that have had a positive impact on the community.
